TLDR : Answer Summary
Travellers to Thailand on a tourist visa typically receive a 60-day stamp upon entry, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. Therefore, the maximum stay is usually 90 days. Some discussions suggest there may be options for longer extensions, such as a 5-year extension for a fee, but this pertains to other visa types. There have also been queries about specific COVID-related extensions for new arrivals.

You would have to use your regular 30 day extension first, read the rest of the post above, or the thousands of other topics relating to covid extensions, or Google, don’t hijack posts 🤦🏼♀️ you’re welcome moderators.
tourists visa length and covid extensions are not the same thing. This is also something that’s asked EVERY TWO MONTHS for over two years. You’re question isn’t even clear, a tourist on arrival? With a visa, a visa on arrival or visa exempt? This matters because not all of the options grant said covid extension.
So your single question will actually open up an entirely new topic that’s of no benefit to the OP. So as I said, why not take 30 seconds to Google OR ask your own question? The people that aren’t lazy are bored of it.
If he has to renew his visa every 12 months, then he has a long-stay visa and not a tourist visa. So he must have

0 baht if he is married to a Thai. You can extend a normal tourist visa 2 times, i.e. max. 180 days in Thailand. And as has already been said, each extension costs 1900 baht. No matter which visa or entry stamp.
What I wrote above with the 180 days was not quite correct. sorry about this. What I meant is the tourist visa 60 days (multiple entries) and that can be extended 2 times by exit and re-entry to 180 days plus 3 times 30 days extension in Thailand directly. So a total of 270 days.
I'm not exactly sure, but I think there is no limit. But what I do know is if you're constantly coming in on a tourist visa, they may check you out to see if you're not working in Thailand. What you are not allowed to do with a tourist visa.
he's talking about x5 12 month extensions totalling $275 and that's if you meet the requirements age, marriage, family etc. Are you over 50? Married to a Thai? Or Have Thai kids?
the Special Tourist Visa, which he isn't on, can be extended twice. The 'normal' tourist visa and visa exemption can be extended once for a further 30 days. Covid extensions could be possible at 60 days, if the immigration office are willing to grant them.
All extensions of stay are 1,900 baht and the max is for one year. If you meet the requirements then you can apply each year and get an extension.

There are no extensions of stay for 5 years. Max is one year and you’d need to meet the requirements for whatever reason you are applying for one - age, marriage, family, etc. Some agents may be able to help if you don’t meet the requirements, but you’d be looking at probably triple that amount, depending on what visa/extension you’re after.

Could you recommend an immigration agency/travel company in Thailand that will help me get an “extension of stay” visa ?
If you don’t buy a tourist visa prior to coming and you’re eligible for a visa exempt entry then you’d get 30 days. Buying a tourist visa would give you 60 days. Both options are extendable once for 30 days.
