TLDR : Answer Summary
A tourist visa for Thailand typically allows for an initial stay of 60 days upon arrival. You can extend this visa once for an additional 30 days at Thai Immigration, for a total maximum stay of 90 days. However, there is uncertainty regarding any COVID-related extensions that may be available after November.

If on a Tourist visa = 60 days on arrival...

Plus one 30 day extension at Thai Immigration 1,900 Thai baht

= 90 days max stay in Thailand

You are allowed to extend one time for an additional 30 days. Whether the “unable to leave due to covid” extension will exist after the 26th of November is unknown.

there is NO visa that gives you a 30 day stamp when you arrive. IF you show up without having bought a visa from a thai consulate in your country and get stamped in for FREE for 30 days you got in on what's called a visa exempt entry

if you have bought a tourist visa prior to arrival then yes you will be stamped for 60 days. If eligible and you have no visa then you’d be given 30 days.
