Hi all,

Just a question regarding the 60 day tourist visa. If I apply for visa in my country and get approval today then fly to thailand in 1 month, I assume I will get 60 day stamp from date of entry that is valid even after Visa would have expired?

Can I then extend that stamp an additional 30 days or 45 days at that point for the 1800 baht? I seem to have remembered in order to extend your stamp your Visa still has to be valid but maybe that applies to 6 month METV not SETV.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual's inquiry about the validity of a 60-day tourist visa upon entry into Thailand and the possibility of extending the stay. It was clarified that the tourist visa allows entry within 90 days of issuance, granting a 60-day stay, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office for a fee.

When you get a tourist visa from a thai consulate it is valid for 90 days from the date it's issued <- meaning you have that long of time to ENTER thailand. When you enter the visa will be stamped USED and you will get a 60 day entry stamp. You can extend that one time for 30 days at the immigration office for 1900baht

Once you enter the visa has no purpose in the extension process, it's the red entry stamp you get FROM the visa that matters
