I'm going to Thailand the first week in November. I'd like to stay 90 days. What visa do I need? Would I get the visa in Thailand or USA?

TLDR : Answer Summary
For a 90-day stay in Thailand, you would typically need a single entry tourist visa, which allows for an initial stay of 60 days that can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office within Thailand. You must apply for this visa before you travel to Thailand, as it cannot be obtained upon arrival. To maximize your stay, be aware that the day of arrival counts as the first day of your visa duration.

Single entry stamp (no visa required from USA) get e visa from Thai embassy where you are for 60 days….then extend it at immigration for a further 30 days once your here

Additionally, if you are looking to maximize the length of your stay remember that the day you enter is counted as your first day so basically it is 59+30. Caught me on that once.

Single entry tourist visa is 60 days, which you can extend at the immigration office in the area you are staying in Thailand adding 30 days = 90 days total.
You must apply through this official website, but not now because once issued, you must enter within 3 months of issuing date. Your 60 days starts on your arrival date.
