TLDR : Answer Summary
The standard tourist visa for Thailand is typically for 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at immigration. If you are looking to stay for 90 days, you will need to either apply for the 60-day visa and extend it or find a visa option that accommodates your extended stay.

hi Greg, thanks for quick reply. That means I have to apply 60 days and show return flight 60 days too. Or do they accept return flight after 90 days (or some days less )?

for short term visas you need to have a flight out within the days of your visa. Some people get away with a flight out longer but it’s generally up to the airline you use. If you don’t have a flight out within that period you may be denied boarding. Get a changeable ticket.

I am not sure how it is working these days in the pandemic but I think to get Thaipass your flights have to align with your visa.
