Hello. I have hopefully a pretty straightfoeward Issues. My 30 day visa expires MAY3 (16 days). I already had one 30 day extension. I am ready to apply for my O retirement. I have a one year lease signed, TM30 on file, 800,000 transferred to Kbank as of last week. How long will this process take? I don't think I'll get my passport back in time and am planning another Air flight to KL if needed. I'm in Bangkok. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is inquiring about the processing time for a Non-O retirement visa application, as their current 30-day visa is set to expire soon. Comments suggest that if the application is submitted before the visa expires, it can be processed quickly, often on the spot, with an indication that a receipt will suffice to avoid overstaying. There is also a mention of needing to wait two months for the 800,000 THB to be seasoned for a yearly extension after applying for the Non-O.

With that note, we are done. Thank you, members. Seems OP gets the necessary information pretty quickly. And see only similar comments are coming, this post is closed. If anyone has more information that has to be added, please contact one of the moderators to re-open this post. Thank you again. Good luck OP with his trip and first application.

If you can go to immigration tomorrow and have all the information they require including bank statements etc then you should be able to do it on your current stamp. As long as you get the application in you will be fine, you can't go on overstay even if they take longer than the 15 days to come back to you, you'll have a receipt which you can show if necessary. If you can't get the application in tomorrow you're going to have to leave the country and get a new stamp.

no, funds no need to be seasoned for initial visa

You'll need to apply for the Non O first, then when your 800k has seasoned for 2 months you can apply for the yearly extension.

If you mean the processing time at the immigration office, it wouldn't take much. Most immigration offices process your application on the spot.

You have to apply for your in-country visa at least when you have a minimum of 15 calendar days in most provinces (15 working days in a few provinces). So maybe tomorrow is the last day you can apply for your initial in-country visa in the best case. You need to do all at once tomorrow, getting bank letters, and all other necessary documents, then going to I/O to apply in time.

Once you apply for an initial in-country non-immigrant visa, it would go under review for 15 days (or 21 days in a few provinces). You still have your passport, but you have to stay in Thailand within this under review period. This is why you have to have a minimum of the remaining days with your current stamp. If you leave, you have to apply for an initial visa again from scratch.

OK. I think that settles it for me. I need to go to Kuala Lumpur anyway. So I will apply on my first day back into Thailand. Thanks for the quick response.
