My daughters Thai friend is getting ready to apply for a Tourist Visa to visit UK. What documents will she need to present with her application? Daughter is paying all her expenses and I will be traveling with her to UK, Bangkok /Heathrow and back, she will be staying with my family in England for 3 weeks then drive to Germany for 1 week staying with her sister then back to Heathrow to fly home.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a UK Tourist Visa, your daughter's Thai friend will need to provide several supporting documents to show her intention to return to Thailand after the visit. These may include an invitation letter from the sponsor (your daughter), proof of sponsor's financial capability (bank statements and income proof), proof of accommodation in the UK, relationship documentation (photos, letters), and evidence of ties to Thailand (such as property ownership or children). It is also important to note that she will need a separate Schengen visa for traveling to Germany.

Just did one for my gf... Parent sponsored, wrote an invitation, showed their ID, proof of income to show support, proof of ownership of property we'd stay at plus some photos of the house, added a few bills and bank statements. Next, we added a letter from my gf, stating why she wanted to go, why she would defo be coming back, so, copies of bank statements, ownership of condo, letter from work on headed paper, travel history, copy of ID and passport. Also added a couple of photos of our relationship. Put it all in a neat folder with a contents page... We went a bit over the top, but it worked coz we remarkably got the visa within 3 working days! They didn't even do a telephone interview (which happened to my friends, so it is a possibility). Feel free to PM me if you want any more advice. Letters I wrote, I used a friends as a template and changed the obvious parts like name, passport no. Etc... However apparently templates are available online :)

The important thing to prove is that she has good reason to return to Thailand, such as own property, has children in Thailand or any strong ties, has she had previous visas? Whoever is sponsoring her needs to show funds, photos of where she will be staying etc, the application has a checklist of enclosed documents, do a portfolio wth as much info as you can. Good luck.

uk immigration for non European citizens is bad may as well hide in a lorry at Calais and claim asylum if you make it

Don't hold your breath and please don't buy any tickets until you get the visa

Write a letter for her showing your name address and passport pic etc if it's her first time it's good supporting documents with the application to show she has a sponsor so to speak.

I do know that all visas for the UK are processed by VFS Global in the Trendy Building on Sukhumvit Soi 13 (they also have a place in Chiang Mai too)

While this is a group designed to help people get visas to stay in thailand I'll let it run to see if you get any good advice.

BTW: she's also gonna need a visa to get into Germany too :) The schengen visa that gets her into germany doesn't work for the UK and the UK visa won't get her into germany :/

Good Luck (y)
