Hi, can anyone advise me how to obtain my Thai girlfriends uk 6 months holiday visa. I’m hoping to bring her to the uk end of January. I’ve checked out some agents and they are quite expensive. I’ve looked at the government website and the application is very extensive . So basically looking for an easier way to apply for her visa. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a UK 6-month holiday visa for your Thai girlfriend, you should complete the application online, as using an agent may be more costly and time-consuming. Collect necessary documents like proof of sufficient finances, accommodation details during her stay, and reasons for her return to Thailand. A strong application typically includes a letter from her employer, bank statements, property ownership documents, and proof of your relationship. Approval rates can be low, particularly for Thai nationals, so ensure all evidence of ties to Thailand is robust to improve chances of success.

complete UK Visa applications for clients in conjunction with our UK immigration law firm fully regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority in the Uk. Our company here is directed by a qualified and. Practicing British lawyer and duty solicitor. You would have access to British lawyers here and in the Uk

Your spouse would have access to thai lawyers here who have been through the system themselves and have visited and lived in the UK. Feel free to make contact. Hope this assists.

Done it before

She will need to provide evidence that she's coming back to Thailand

Ie she has a house in Thailand and family that she wants to come back to Thailand

You have to agree to cover the cost if she does a runner in the uk

And she has money in the bank to cover her expenses in England

That should be enough to let her in England

Unfortunately for you there's no other way around it

Maybe you can try to get it done going to another EU country but I doubt it good luck

Put her on a boat in France

Don’t know if true but I was told that all Countries have an annual quota. Once that is reached applications and fees will continue to be accepted and all refused. That maybe where going through a Visa Agent might help?

You need to get her on a rubber dingy across from calais, no paperwork straight to a free house an all the benefits

Most lads don't bother bringing the lady to the UK.

Too much hassle, it's always too cold for them, expensive and worry.

They'd rather stay in Thailand and have the money! Fact

Go UK embassy in Thailand asked the requirements fullfil them

The UK embassy in Thailand don’t handle visa applications for the UK. It’s contracted out to a company called VFS Global. You use their services to obtain a visa.

The embassy website may list the requirements (I’ve not checked) but they don’t handle the application.

Just do the application yourself. The most important things to demonstrate are sufficient finances, where she'll stay during the trip and reasons why she will return to Thailand (and leave the UK). A bank statement with a few hundred thousand baht, car ownership docs, property ownership docs and docs for employment/business ownership and you should be fine! You also need a few bits to prove your relationship is legitimate. My gf got hers no problems but it did take 3 months from application.

It’s a nightmare! My fiancé been turned down 3 times now, be patient! It’s a long process!

You don't always get 6 months.

You may only get 3 months.

All upto the officer dealing with your case.

From my looking into it in the past (for a USA visit), I can say the approval statistics are so bad that it sometimes seems like more of a money grab than a visa. Unless the Thai national has significant assets in and ties to Thailand, they are very unlikely to get approved. If they own a home and some land and have a good mid level job, that’s rarely enough to make the powers that be believe they will not overstay or otherwise violate the intent of the visa. The visa agents know this and make a fair amount of money off the fact that it’s so difficult to get approved. It’s almost like it exists to generate income and not provide a means of traveling to other places.

mine is a nurse for a government hospital and they said no

exactly my point. Someone who has a good job or their own small business, owns land and has family ties and other reasons to come back they still tend to refuse. I don’t actually have first hand knowledge of anyone getting approved. I’d love to see the financials and other info of someone who did.

We were just trying to get her here for a visit to meet my family before we got married; unfortunately that wasn’t possible, and we started the K1. By the time that was approved it was already too late for her to meet my father, who passed a few months before her arrival.

Unfortunately people abuse the system, and the people who pay for that are the people who try to work within it.

Done it twice for my lady to UK and twice to Australia. Never had a refusal. University degree, secure job in Bangkok, owns house and two farms in Isaan, mother still alive and four sisters (all farmers).

I did myself but knew going by a previous application for my now ex, the evidence we submitted this year wasn’t enough. After 11 weeks waiting got knocked back. Waiting 4 or 5 months and will apply again. I’d say as much evidence as possible. If she’s working get a letter from her employer. Bank statements, chanote or house book. chats between yourselves. They basically want to see a reason for her to return. Good luck.

Did one recently for my lady. Application itself is easy, it's just a little daunting getting the proofs together. She needed to submit a letter from her employer detailing length of service and salary, ownership documents of her land, bank statements and details of immediate family members. I provided the letter of invite (even though I haven't lived in the UK for about 35 years) staying I'll support her during her stay. It seems daunting but it's straightforward enough

Cheapest and best way is to complete the application online yourself. Start now, because it can take weeks. If you use an agent you still have to answer all the same questions and get all the same documents together. So do it yourself. They still have to complete the same application just on your behalf. So it takes even longer and costs more.

There is no easy way. You can't just skip the application because you want to.

You need to do the application, and even then the odds aren't all that great for approval.

Most just pick a different country to go to like Turkey instead.
