Can anyone point me in the right direction. I want to know how to go about getting a tourist visa for my Thai girlfriend to visit me for a holiday in Spain or England or preferably both. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat is seeking guidance on how to secure tourist visas for their Thai girlfriend wishing to visit Spain and the UK. The comments reveal that she will need separate visas for each country. The UK visa application requires initial online submission through VFS Bangkok, followed by a biometrics appointment. The discussion highlights specific challenges due to current COVID-19 restrictions and the importance of having a strong case for visa approval, including financial sponsorship and proof of relationship.

Apply for Spanish visa and UK visa. Spanish will be harder than UK right now. You won't even get into Spain, unless you have specific reasons to get in

The UK is locked down doubt if they'll issue any visa at this time
John Mozley and if you live in uk you'd do well to read the UK govt latest rules for travellers.

John Mozley so do I. And my son is flying in next week. Quarantining in a house he owns. Will do a covid test after 5 days and should be able to leave quarantine early. It's all on the govt website.

John Mozley how to fly in:
Fill in your passenger locator form
You must complete this form online before you arrive in the UK.
You can submit the form any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in the UK.
Provide a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test to travel to the UK
You must also provide proof of a negative coronavirus test before you leave for the UK. The test must have been taken in the 3 days before your departure. The proof must be in English, French or Spanish.
You must provide the proof to the company you’re travelling with - for example, the airline, ferry company or train operator.
**And if non red list country you choose where to quarantine.
Lynnette *******
John Mozley only for red list countries. Not for others. They can quarantine at home or in another location. They can take a covid test after 5 days and if negative may end quarantine. Facts are available and best obtained from UK govt pages.
. Agreed . But immigration don't take that risk financially. Thailand is still one of the top red flag countries for visa truancy overseas, thats why the requirements are stricter for them than many other countries, thanks to the previous generations rorting the system .

Of course, but i doubt someone whose been with someone a while is going to do a runner and give up everything that could be on offer. They’d be no point in doing that.
. Been down this road in the past. You can sponsor her financially, yes, but you become financially viable for all costs if she does a runner, etc after arriving. Thats the risk you accept as a sponsor.

Agents will tell you that. As long as she has a return flight booked, evidence they’ve been together a while, I’d say she’ll be fine, but as we know anything can happen.
and if they break up she can’t support herself, agent told me 60,000b in her bank needed

Not true if the op will be the sponsor, and can prove they’ve been together for a while, should have no problems.

You need 2 visas. A schengen issued by Spain and an UK visa. Bear in mind that usual rules may be suspended right now. For example the only people allowed into Spain now are spanish/andorran nationals or residents - no visitors. The few exceptions to this will be diplomats, medical staff etc.
UK and Spain would require separate visas. I got a UK visa for my lady last year. Initial application was online through VFS Bangkok, and then she had to go to the Trendy Building in Soi 13 for the biometrics and to pay the dosh. For some reason they only take cash.

Mark Atkins. You're right actually. It was the Australian visa where they'd only take cash.
We've done successful visa applications 3 times and never paid cash for biometrics at the Trendy building. It is always paid by card when booking it online, the only way to book it.
