Thank you for accepting.

I'm having a bit of a melt down right now so hoping someone may be able to help.

I hold a UK passport and my son and I fly to Thailand next Tuesday 09/07/19. We will be staying in the Kingdom for 36 days. I know we need a Tourist Visa as we're staying over the 30 days. I realise I'm cutting it fine but I started the application a while ago, got confused, gave up and then just forgot about it.

I'm stuck at what 2 docs I need to provide as my English dad has a house there (he resides in the UK).

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder traveling to Thailand with a stay of 36 days requires a Tourist Visa due to exceeding the 30-day allowance for visa exemption. Key document requirements discussed include proof of accommodation, which can be a refundable hotel booking, and the upload of the passport as proof of nationality. Some users suggested the possibility of entering visa-exempt, getting a 30-day extension for a fee, and the importance of timely application to avoid complications.

No,I started the application a month ago but life got in the way and I forgot lol

well to be honest, you did really cut it close time wise to thinking about getting the visa :O

Don't bother with the visa. Just get the visa exempt stamp on arrival which gets you 30 days, then extend for 1900 baht at a local immigration office to get another 30 days.

@Darren *******
deported and band for 5 years with a lot of fee if they find them with overstay. Stupid and dangerous recommendation

@Darren *******
no but the minor is still illegally in the country and can get overstay stamp + she has to really read the fine print of her travel insurance.

@Serena *******
they don't charge minors for overstay FYI

a lot cheaper to get the visa beforehand... if I only needed one I wouldn't mind :)

Probably for those that you dont have to indicate.

Just upload a document that says.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My residence will be with my .....

This is the address.....

I have a ticket..... will leave on....

Thank you for your kind consideration.

Best regards....

Could you not take 30 days visa exempt then extend for 1900 baht in Thai ?

@Chris *******
yes they could.

You've got a field required in 7 because at the beginning of the application you have either entered Thailand or the UK in the field asking where you have residency. You need to leave it blank
Ron *******
Serena Bowles travel booking is your flight confirmation. Accomodation booking is exactly that. Accomodation of where your staying or a letter from your dad to say your staying with him

I can't seem to progress with the application unless I add a document :/

@Serena *******
upload your passport. That’s the proof that you are a national
Ron *******
@Serena *******
leave 7. Do not tick anything. You need to upload a booking confirmation for 5
Vanessa ******
And you don't need #7
Vanessa ******
Proof of accommodation: just book a refundable hotel room for 10-14 days. That's what I was told. I applied yesterday for the 60 day visa through an agent in Malaysia
Ron *******
Forget 7 if your a UK passport holder.
Ron *******
Sophie Marielle I'm telling you how to do it. I know EXACTLY how it works. I'm giving up now anyway because there are far too many people chiming in with how to circumvent the system

Good luck

@Ron ******
you have to upload something or you can’t proceed. You can upload your passport I think.

a simple short letter stating you are staying at the Thai address as a guest, for the 36 day period, include your names and passport numbers, signed by the owner will suffice.
