This may be off topic so I apologise in advance.

My partner holds a Myanmar passport which, we understand, gives her 14 days visa free entry to Thailand.

If she wishes to stay longer than the 14 days does anyone know if she can apply for a 14 day or 30 day visa once in Thailand.

And yes, I know she can apply for a 60 day tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in Yangon but that's not easy for her to do currently.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Myanmar passport holder can enter Thailand visa-free for up to 14 days but can only obtain this entry by air. She cannot extend her stay beyond this period while in Thailand. To stay longer, she must apply for a visa before traveling, such as a 60-day tourist visa from the Thai Embassy in Yangon. Alternatively, she may attempt to apply for an embassy request extension after discussing options with the Burmese embassy or utilize a visa run by traveling to a nearby country for a visa.

Get on a Burmese Facebook page. My girlfriend is also from Burma or I should say Myanmar And she’s been living here for many years. There is some kind of special agreement that the king has made to allow Burmese people to escape me war. My girlfriend doesn’t speak much English so getting the details for you almost impossible. She works with somebody on Facebook and that’s really about all. I can tell you, but she should be able to stay here nearly indefinitely if she wants to.

You can get an Edu visa of course for a longer stay, up to three years, I e. x 3 1 yr visas. I lived in Burma 2013-2016. Not bad then, but now awful as we know. And what is her age? Might she be conscripted if she remains there?

"There is no 'border bounce' for Burmese. They can only enter free stamp for 14 days by air and need a valid visa to enter by land.

They can contact the burmese embassy, get a letter go to the immigration office and apply for a 30 day 'embassy request' extension.

OR

They can go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and buy a visa

OR

they can fly out/back and get a 14 day entry stamp"

Sorry but she can ONLY enter Thailand by air ✈️ to get 14 days stamp ....

She cannot get any extension of stay inside Thailand.

Special agreement: Myanmar is Bilateral, only allowed to come in via Airport for 14days, CANNOT ❌ do a land border run.

Otherwise she must have a Thai Visa obtained from the Thai Embassy in Yangon.
