TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the necessity of obtaining a tourist visa for an upcoming trip to Thailand after having entered the country twice on a visa exemption this year. Several comments indicate that, generally, returning visitors who haven't overstayed or engaged in border runs should be fine without needing a tourist visa, despite recent rumors. Additional advice was given about documentation needed for visa applications, particularly in relation to the user's situation as a lodger in the UK.
If you've returned to the UK (since your first Thailand visit this year), then either (A) that'll be registered via your passport or (B) they won't know whether or not you've returned to the UK. Either way, not a problem for you.
No idea where you read such nonsense. Nothing has changed in the normal entry requirements. The innovations refer to border runs and extensions. These are on 2 pieces per Limited . And these extensions are 1 time 30 days, 2 times 7 days to be able to leave Thailand. Absolutely no changes for normal tourists.
If youâre flying back to your home country each time and your visits to Thailand are short, around six weeks, with a reasonable gap between each trip, it generally shouldnât cause any problems.
The British also have 60 days visa-free. Entry from the home country would even be possible to enter 3 times a year without any problems without having to think about tax law.
the tdac as just been brought in a couple of months ago. They have been refusing entry to people who have done frequent border runs. If heâs only done a maximum of 60 days at a time then he will have no problems
the tdac was re introduced in electronic form over a year ago and is an arrival card nothing to do with visa s or permission to enter thailand. Everybody gets a receipt confirming your form has been received no guarantee at all to get an approved entry
there are no new rules, only guidelines issued to immigration officers. There is no limit on visa exempt entries, but each immigration officer has discretion.
Iâve been 4 times this year. Iâm actually in Thailand now. Just fill out the tdac before you come. You fill it out up to 72 hours before arrival. Just as long you have not done any border runs you will be ok.
I came last dec and stayed 2 months obviously I entered last year , then I came and stayed may/ june for 60 days and came again oct for 16 nights . I have booked to come again on 10 dec for 6 weeks . I haven't extended at all.
you'll be absolutely fine coming on the normal exemption.. To be honest I'm mystified why you could think your not? There's some terrible info out there and I see people giving terrible answers to questions everyday..
