TLDR : Answer Summary
Visitors from countries with a 30-day visa exemption can extend their stay in Thailand for an additional 30 days by following certain procedures. To obtain this extension, you need to provide your passport, copies of relevant documents, fill out the appropriate forms, and pay a fee. Additionally, while it's generally recommended to have a return or onward ticket upon entering Thailand, some authorities may allow a later flight date, especially if you've secured an extension.

Completing a visa application involves submitting 5 things you dont submit in the TO application and then docs you need to forward to the hotel on booking. The 5 are a copy of your passport, two selfies, a bank statement and a photo of a signed downloaded declaration. No passport or documents are sent off.

If you know how to upload photos its a walk in the park. The plus side is you dont have to travel to attend the Immigration Office, obtain copes of your entry stamps.

Perhaps people who do get a visa waiver can reassure us post November 1st that they have no problems either with the TP, at check in and on arrival.

Look for „onward tickets“ after 30days. That will work. Most embassies don’t accept a return flight >30 days on visa exemption , even they are fully aware, that you can extend it 1x for 30 days within Thailand

I saw another post saying you cannot extend visa exempt? So much conflicting advise. If you wish to stay more than 30 days then I would advise you to get a tr visa

>I saw another post saying you cannot extend visa exempt?

That information is being posted on a consulate's website. Never ever trust what a Thai embassy website says about getting an extension of stay, and never trust what an immigration office says about getting a visa outside the country. They are overseen by two completely different agencies who do not communicate with each other.

that is a mistake on many embassy websites. You CAN indeed extend a 30 day visa exempt entry by another 30 days at the immigration office that serves the area where you stay in thailand.

Normally (and it depends on the Embassy issuing your COE/ThailandPass) you need an onward flight before your 30 day entry stamp expires

You'll have to ask the Thai consulate where you're getting your Certificate of Entry/ Thailand Pass and your airline. Those questions are outside the scope of this group.

A person who enters Thailand on a 30 day visa exempt can get ONE 30 day extension of stay based on tourism. You will need the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. [Maybe] A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The extension of stay application form (“TM 7”). For BANGKOK IMMIGRATION ONLY, the forms are found in the "files" section of the group. Each immigration office may have slightly different forms.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

There is NO under consideration stamp, and the extension of stay is issued on the spot.
