Hi there - question on Non O (spousal dependent) visa extension. After entering Thailand on the above visa, what documents are required for the 1-year extension? CW immigration office if that matters.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a Non O (spousal dependent) visa for one year in Thailand, you will generally need to provide several documents, which include the original documentation used for your 90-day visa application. This usually consists of the marriage certificate, employment contract, work permit of the primary visa holder, copies of both passport and visa (including entry stamp), as well as any extension documents for the primary visa holder. Additionally, ensure that the primary visa holder meets the financial requirements for their extension. It's advisable to reach out to Chaengwattana immigration office or the primary visa holder's HR department for a comprehensive list of the required documents.

A foreigner who legally works here (non-b + work permit).

great - will do. Thanks again.

Then they're only going to need to see that the primary visa holder meets the financial requirements to get their extension, the person "piggy backing" doesn't show anything.

Get the person's employer to contact Chaengwattana and get the list OR slog on out there and ask for it yourself.

It's a pile of paper, so get it WAY before you need to apply for the extension so you have time to get the documents together

Is the person who has the 90 day Non-O married to a foreigner who legally works here and on an employment extension or who is on an extension based on being over 50 (retirement)?

It's certainly gonna take all the documentation you used to GET the 90 day Non-O visa. Like marriage certificate, employment contract, work permit, copies of the passport, visa, entry stamp, extension for the primary visa holder, copies of the passport of the person piggy-backing onto them, probably photos too. I'm not sure

Sadly there is no one size fits all "this is what you need" list and I see a visit to Chaengwattana OR at least the HR dept of the primary visa holder contacting immgirations to find out what you need.

thank you. My main concern was that the 800k in a Thai bank acc. rule would apply since its the same catergory of visa, as far as im aware (also called a non-o i believe but im not sure if there is an additional classifier, e.g. 'Non-O-'A' or Non-O'X').

you mean you have a foreigner who is married to another foreigner (who legally works here) that came in on a 90 day non-O visa and you want to extend that for the year?
