TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a 90-day Non-O visa for 60 days, you typically need to provide specific documents, including your marriage certificate, your Thai spouse's ID card, their house registration book, and possibly an affidavit of freedom to marry. There are discussions on the necessity of having a physical address or house in Thailand for the extension process, with some suggesting that showing photos in front of your residence with your spouse might suffice. Additionally, it is noted that one can apply for a yearly extension after this initial 60-day extension.

I'd say until you sort out where it is you're going to live, you just go to Savannakhet and get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage and border bounce every 90 days. Once you have your living situation sorted out you can apply for the extension on any one of those 90 day stamps.

@Ma**
, now you're asking questions that you or your wife should be asking the immigration officers at the office where you're thinking of applying for the extension.

It's gonna be their call.

During that period

What if we move to a shop?

Mark, you would definitely need to stay at the same address for the duration of the under consideration period. Many immigration offices do an 'in home' visit to make sure the marriage is legit during that period

Sorry typo error does it mean I have to stay in same hotel for 30 days after application?
Mark **********
ORIGINAL POSTER
But they can take up to 30 days just saying goes well might change hotel in that process
Tod *********
or are you staying at a hotel in that province?
Tod *********
@Ma**
, I'm not understanding, I mean you LIVE somewhere in the province you're wanting to apply for the extension at. Use that address.

Might be a problem if I change hotel?

@Mark *********
that's the same stuff they ask for in Bangkok so I don't see anything wrong with their requirements.

Thanks Tod you have been a great help

@Ma**
, you can get an extension of stay staying at a hotel. :O there's nothing in the rules that says you have to have a house. All you have to do is show you and your wife standing in front of the address numbers and a few pictures of you two sitting around the living room or kitchen.

Yeah that yellow house book isn't going to cut any ice applying for an extension out of the province it was issued in (in fact it could be an impediment showing it to them)

They said I cannot extend it in Roi Et as I don't have a house they want photos inside and outside house 2 of each also I have yellow tabaen card for her house in Nong Bua Daeng

Ask your thai wife to be sure you don't have some copies of it lying around. Most people do actually have copies of it because the translation shop knows you need them once in a while and they give you a few extras.

There is nothing stopping you from getting a yearly extension of stay when this 60 day extension is expiring. Although I'm almost 100% positive you'll need that affirmation to marry copy to get the year extension.

If you are getting the visit family extension based on marriage to a thai you'd need the marriage certificates, wife's thai i/d her house book listing possibly a copy of your affidavit of freedom to marry.

@Mark *********
sure, shouldn't be a problem they ADD the 60 day extension to you current expiration date.

It could be we haven't found a shop yet so I can't get 1 year extension for marriage in Roi et I will have to go back to Chaiyaphum

the only reason you could get a 90 day Non-O extended for 60 days would be under the visit family clause. Is that your reason?
