Hello all

I'm trying to get a 90-day visa to visit my wife in Bangkok. On the embassy web site it mentions an O class for when my wife is accompanying me, but nothing about me travelling alone and meeting her there.

What proof would I have to supply to get the 90-day?

Many thanks

Vaughan

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about obtaining a 90-day visa to visit their wife in Bangkok, specifically about the necessary documentation required when traveling independently. Community responses highlight the general requirements for a Non-O visa, including the need for bank statements, marriage certificate, wife's ID, passport copies, photos, and application forms. Suggestions also indicate that the visa can be obtained at different consulates depending on the user's location.

If all you're after is a single entry tourist visa you follow these directions (and you can get it from Hull, Cardiff or London).

@Vaughan ******
now you're talking about something completely different :O A tourist visa is valid for 3 months <- meaning you have that long to enter the country and get stamped in for 60 days

Seems like a very strict financial guarantee for just a 3 month visa. I was told it was easy to get a 3 month tourist visa... So much misinformation out there ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Thank you very much, Tod. It looks like I'm not going to get one as I was made redundant last year. I have plenty of money in the bank but only a small pension as income.

I did this in London and had to supply 3 months bank statements.

Depends where you apply. If your wife is Thai most consulates want copies of marriage cert, wifes ID and house book, copy of your passport main page and obviously your passport, 2 passport photos, completed app form and the fee. Some consulates want all the copies signed as well.

If you're married with a Thai National you can apply for the Non Immigrant O visa based on this marriage and this visa will gives you 90 days of stay. I can take a look for you but than I need to know in which country you look at the website of the Thai Embassy.

Just read it as you wish to accompanying your wife who is already in Thailand. It will be no problem.
