I plan to go to Savannakhet to apply for the multi entry non-o based on being married to a Thai that lets me stay 1 year by re-entering the country every 3 months. I looked on the embassy website and didn't find the requirements for that visa.

Is it still possible to get it?

A search in the group told me that I need a signed copy of wife ID card, tabian baan and marriage certificate. Do I need to bring the originals as well ? Can I make the trip alone ? Or my wife has to show up there with me ? Also is there anything else I should be aware of ? I have European passport.

Thank you very much for the help !

I would suggest you get there early. The line up to get inside the gated area is long. They stop letting people in at 11am. I’ll never understand why they only have one person working at such a busy consulate. I would suggest you go early in the week as it’s a next day pick up. I wouldn’t suggest to go on a Thursday or Friday just in case there’s a problem with the paper work and you end up having to stay there for the weekend.

There is a copy shop across the street from the consulate in case you need it.

Will Macadam, You need to stay there for at least one night because of visa processing time. Unfortunately, the Laos visa matter is not a Thai visa question.

only certain days are that way with the crazy queues and that's from the visa agencies from bangkok and pattaya that run people there. Some days you can just show up and almost walk in. Tuesdays for example are easy days to apply on because the agents get there monday morning as a rule

ok, good to know. I was there early Thursday morning and it was very busy. Thanks for the heads up.

you almost have to time it to the days those agencies DON'T show up 😛

Friday no one is there because no one wants to stay in Savannakhet over the weekend (But it's really not that bad) and get their passport Monday afternoon

picking up my passport on Friday was a breeze. Took about 15 minutes tops.

it's exactly the requirements for the single entry Non-O visa they list based on marriage to a thai BUT at the top right of the application you write year/multiple and you give them 5000baht. your wife doesn't need to go

You need the original Kor Ror 3 rose border marriage certificate (they want to feel it's real by the embossed stamp),

copies of

that marriage certificate

your wife's thai i/d,

her house book listing,

your passport data page,

your lao visa,

your entry stamp to lao,

she signs the stuff with her name on it,

you sign the stuff with your name on it,

meaning you BOTH sign the marriage certificate copies

just to add. I was there last week to do this exact visa.

- I also had the Kor Ror 2 copied.

- If your wife took your last name, you’ll need a copy of that certificate as well.

- I also had my wife write a short letter mentioning she wanted the Thai consulate to issue me the 1 year multiple entry visa.

I also brought all the originals but wasn’t asked to see them.

right if your wife changed her name you need that paper too, forgot that one (mostly because so few thai women take their husbands surname), they don't ask for the letter from your wife anymore saying you want the visa, (they did for a while)

it’s easily forgotten. Don’t ask me how I know 😉.

same same (January this year), they kept all the copies I gave them, nothing returned to me as superfluous
