Hi guys.

I’m after a little advice about a non immigrant o visa for my wife. I’m a UK citizen working here on a non-b and work permit. My wife is a US citizen currently here on a 60 day tourist visa. Can anyone help me with some info on how we go about obtaining the non-o? (Dependent based on marriage)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m getting mixed messages from work about the process and time is running out on the tourist visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen is seeking advice on obtaining a Non-Immigrant O Visa for his US citizen wife, who is currently in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa. Community responses indicate that she can possibly convert her tourist visa to a Non-O visa at an immigration office, provided she has sufficient days left on her current visa. It's suggested to visit immigration offices for necessary documents and procedures, highlighting the need for a letter from the employer indicating her eligibility to apply for the dependent visa.

Depending on what immigration office you use; the main one out at Chaengwattana OR the one stop service center at Cham Churi Square, I'd stop by there and get the hand out that lists the documents required from you and your company for her to apply for a 90 day Non-O visa inside the country.

She must have at least 15 days left on her Admitted to Stay in Bangkok, 21 days in Chang Mai, so it is Immigration Office depending. She will need a letter from your company that she is allowed to "piggy back" on your visa.

You can convert the Tourist visa to an O visa at Immigration in Bangkok, as long as there are enough days left for it to be considered. I did this for my wife and then she was added to my Extension. If there is not enough time left, she'll have to get an O visa from a Consulate outside Thailand.
