Hello everyone, I have a retirement visa that I'm on. My question is, my wife has a restaurant and I will move there and live upstairs. What do I or does she need to do for the reporting? I'm confused as to who does what report. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The wife needs to file a TM30 report for the foreigner (the husband) who will be residing at her restaurant. It's important to note that as the holder of a retirement visa, the husband is prohibited from working in any capacity, including volunteering at the restaurant.

She will need to do the TM30 report of a foreigner coming to stay at her address. Also, do not ever help out in the restaurant as you are on a retirement visa which prohibits any form of work (being paid or not is irrelevant).

It makes no reference to retirement.

TM30 still works the same with visa or extension, right? Isn’t the Non-OA kind of a retirement visa?

most likely the OP is on extension of stay based on retirement. A retirement visa does not exist. Do the TM30 thing first, than 90day reporting. And before the extension expires do a timely renewal.

Bz Burritoz There is a lot of past info on TM30 here in this group. Use the search box at the top of the page. Look out for a post by Robert Lagas which has an explainer video from Immigration.
