TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, the responsibility for filing the TM30 form, which is necessary for reporting the arrival of a foreigner to the local immigration office, lies with the property owner or landlord. Therefore, if your friend is staying at your place, it is typically your landlord who should complete this process.

The property owner should do the TM30.

What region do you live in? Do you live in Bangkok?

HOWEVER... will your friend use any immigration services in the two months?

REPOST: Self File TM-30 BANGKOK ONLY.

This is the way you need to fill out the TM30 form if you are filing with NO documentation from your land lord

Your name goes at the top of the form, your address goes under it, then your address AGAIN as the address where the foreigner lives.

In the blank area at the bottom left hand side of the piece that they will tear off and give back to you write your address again.

On the second page (the table) put all your information.

You sign BOTH forms on the signature lines. Print the forms correctly. the first page is portrait orientation and second page is landscape orientation :O

Make copies of;

-lease

-data page of your passport

-visa (if you have one)

-extension (if you have one)

-entry stamp

-TM6 departure card

sign the copies of your passport stuff.

This is a way to file a TM30 in BANGKOK without any information from your land lord at all. <- (meaning you don't need their i/d, their house book listing, a power of attorney form with the 10 baht in tax stamps).

AFAIK: this ONLY works in Bangkok but I can say with 100% accuracy that it does work (y)

Just a heads-up, I followed the information to self-file at MTT the other day and the lady promptly started asking for Landlord ID, House registration and PoA. Maybe I was just unlucky but I could hear other people ahead of me also having issues with missing documents that day.

you need to totally ignore that and say you're filing on your own, AND you need to have that form filled out exactly like I showed in my example in the post. You CANNOT have your land lord's name ANYWHERE on there or you're not gonna be able to do it

I left landlords name out of the form but his name is on the lease and she pointed to that and asked for ID, later she gave me a slip with a list of all paperwork I needed.

Maybe I said the wrong thing or something, anyways I've sourced copies of all the required paperwork and are planning to go back.

I did a TM30 this Monday at MTT. Pretty smooth process. Get the form and make needed copy. One counter check the documents and give a queue number. Then another counter check again and give the receipt. No questions asking, all done in 20 minutes.

do I get the form from immigration?

@Mike *****
You can go to immigration to get the TM30 form. I don't know if it's like the extension of stay form where each immigration office wants to use their own special fancy form.
