Hi to everyone 👋🏻

I’m new in this group. I searched accross the group but didn’t find any post with a clear answer to my doubts.

I’m married with a Thai woman and I have Non-O Visa until July of next year.

I arrived to Thailand at the end of july, so the stamp in my passport says that I should leave Thailand on day October 22th.

My wife is pregnant and it’s expected to give birth at beginning of October, so I would like to extend my stay minimum until the end of this year (because I have to go back to my country where I work)

This is my first time, so I would like to know which options I have (afaik a 60/90days/1y extension) and what papers do you present for get it.

Right now a Visa Run it’s impossible because the COVID..

This morning I had been at Rayong inmigration office and they give a list so long (and written in perfect thai) that it looks impossible to achieve. Maybe they didn’t understand me well because they don’t speak English.

That’s why I ask for advice here and for your knowledge.

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻🙂

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently holding a Non-O visa until July next year and married to a Thai woman, is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand due to their wife's expected childbirth in early October. Options for extension include applying for a 60-day 'visit family' extension, which does not require financial proof, or a 1-year extension that does, necessitating having 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account for two months. Users in the thread suggest taking all necessary paperwork, including marriage certificates, to immigration with the Thai spouse to facilitate the process.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

Getting the 60-day extension will be your primary option so far. So you can stay until 22-Dec.

You should start to prepare all those things needed for getting the 1-year extension when your 60-day expires in December. Many things:

- have you married in Thailand? If yes it will save you a lot of troubles; otherwise you will need to register your foreign marriage (can be very complicated)

- bank financial proof that you know already

- don’t forget about TM30

- have you registered at the local district office? Have you got the pink ID card, and the yellow house registration book? If you have no idea on what I am talking about, you have not registered yet

Good luck. I have gone through all these with my wife without using agent service; spend the agency fee if you cannot manage all those yourself

You are on a non-immigrant visa that has not expired, and officially married to a Thai. You can take your wife, and your marriage certificates to immigration, and they will give you a 90 day extension stamp so you can meet all the requirements to get your 1 year extension of stay. You must have a Thai bank account in your name only, and have bt400k in it for at least 2 months for your first one year extension, or at least bt40k a month coming into your bank from out of the country every month. ATM receipts are not accepted. Some immigration offices require this for at least 2 months your first time, and others require it for a full year. This is sometimes the hardest part of the process, and why they give you 90 days from the time you start the process inside Thailand. If you can meet this financial requirement, then message me and I can fill you in on the rest of what you need. It is a long list, but it is pretty easy to get everything.

Leaving is not a good option, I went out to go to work for 4 weeks not been able to get back yet and it's been 7 months now. Take the wife with you to the immigration office and see what they can do. I found them to be very helpful in the past be respectful and dress reasonably well.

Like he said; IF you can meet the proof of funds (400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply) you can apply straight for a yearly extension of stay based on marriage.

OR

IF you can't meet the proof of funds you can apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension as he also pointed out.

I will follow the advice of do the extension for 60 days, and in the meantime prepare the rest of things for the long stay extension.

I will go next friday and ask them. As I said, the staff from Rayong office they didn’t inform me about this possibility, and I didn’t know it exists

Thank you everyone

so I'm confused. If he has a non-o that expires next year in July, why does he have to leave in mid October?

A non o only allows 90 days which is why it’s stamped in his passport.

He has a 12 month non o multiple entry visa which last 12 months for him to return on, but each time he needs to leave and renter after 90 days.

Basically it saves him having to apply for a new visa every 3 month.

Yes you can apply to extend one time at immigration but due to the situation they are not being extended.

non o is 90 days and can extend one time at immigration, then reapply for visa next time.

Non o multiple entry based on marriage or parent of Thai national allows same but you don’t need to reapply for a new visa until 12 month is over.

He can also apply for a 1 year extention of stay but would need 400,000bt seasoned in a Thai bank account for 2 months or proof of 40,000bt per month income.

You can extend in country if you have a multiple visa already. You need 400k in your account for 3momths pictures of the wedding, of your house and just from random times together you also need a map from the immigration office to your house

There is only a year extension option for a non-o entry, provided you meet the financial requirements and jump through all the other hoops. There is no 90 day option. You could however apply for a 60 day visit Thai family extension. This can only be done once per entry/visa -depending on the rules enforced at your immigration office. There is no financial requirements for this extension other than the 1900 baht fee.

I have Visa Non-O in my passport because i’m married with Thai, multiple entry and expires July next year.

As you,
@Steve ******
and other persons have suggested I will try to apply for a extension of stay of 60days based on “visit family”

In the meanwhile I will try to prepare every paper for the long term stay.

This morning I had been in the Inmigration office but they didn’t offered me this option.

I will go next friday, but this time with my wife 🙂

ok to transfer/extend a non-o based on marriage you need “real days” on your “allowed to stay” date. A visit family stamp will allow for that. Once you have that you can change to a year extension if you can meet the financial requirements. 400k in a bank account in your name only.

yes 😀

Now the objective is to extend my stay and spend some weeks with my baby that will born maybe at the beginning of October, and let’s try to get the long stay. About the 400K I didn’t know it, but I knew it today, I prepared my thai account and now starts counting the 2 months.

My passport entry permit is until October 22, so I’m still full of time for get the extension. But It’s my first time, I don’t know the procedure, and for the last CoE and ASQ it was so time consuming and difficult that I want to prepare the extension of stay as soon as I can 😄

Anyway I have to go back to my home country at the end of this year, so next year let’s see how is going about COVID19.. hope it’s easier to come back

You will need to leave and apply to have your visa extended at the Thai embassy of your country.

You will then need to apply for a COE and book on a repatriation flight and quarantine for 14 days in a ASQ hotel.

You will need your marriage certificate for the COE.

You go to then with prints certified by bank. In Bangkok most bands have besides. It needs to be ordered same day to show you have the money.

For retirement visa,, you get 90. Says first, it can be money transferred recently, but to get1 year extention the amount 800k need to be in the bankbook 2 months.

I'm thinking your wanted visa is closet to that than whatever Andrew says.

Read online to find em specific intimation for your visa.

Hello. My VISA Non-O expires on July of the next year, and it’s a multiple entry VISA.

The question was how can I stay more than 90 days, because I asked about long stay requirements and the list of requirements it’s almost impossible to accomplish on time before 22oct.

For instance they ask me to show 400K baht in my book bank from 2 months before VISA apply, and until today I didn’t have that ammount, I just transferred it.

Thank you very much for your comments

Yes, I know the procedure well 😂 I suffered it last July.

My plan is to extend the stay 60days using the “visit family” extension, and then go back to my country at the end of the year.

Next year I would like to come back at the end of February or the beginning of March.

Let’s see how difficult it’s to enter Thailand in that time 🥵

Thank you

Yes under normal circumstances you can extend one time, unfortunately this has now ceased under the circumstances.

I was talking about the amnesty of tourists when I said all out.

Obviously not people who have visas.
