Hi Tod and team, thanks for providing such invaluable help to everyone in this group. It’s really really useful.
I (german) entered Thailand via the phuket sandbox end of January, but going to be spending most of the time in BKK where the family lives. I wonder what are the options and also the requirements for a) extending my current 90 days (single) non-imm O Visa (based on having a thai child) and b) applying for a new 12 months non-imm O visa in the country (if that’s even possible). Grateful for your advice! Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
A German national in Thailand is seeking advice on extending their current 90-day NON-O Visa, which is based on having a Thai child, while also looking for options to apply for a new 12-month NON-O Visa. The response suggests that if the applicant has legal parental rights and the child resides with them, they can apply for a year extension by meeting certain financial requirements.

If you have legal parental rights granted (either via family court or thru the local amphur) you can apply for a year extension based on supporting a half thai child (IF the child lives with you) by having 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only when you apply for the year extension and turning in the required documentation.
