Hi, I arrived on Thursday with my Thai wife. We were married 3 years ago in Thailand, but stayed in UK for past 2 yrs. When we left on Wednesday to come here. My understanding was come out on a VOA and apply I could apply for 60 day spouse extension. Then for a 12 month visa with 90 day reporting.

From something I read the covid extensions are to end 25th March, with only certain visa's types being granted.

Can anyone advise on the current situation and how I go about extending my visa without having to go back to UK 25th Feb. We have our own house here in Samut Sakhon. Currently in AQ hotel in Bangkok till Thursday next week.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on how to extend their visa after arriving in Thailand on a Visa on Arrival (VOA) while being married to a Thai citizen. They need to know if they can apply for a 60-day spouse extension or navigate the current visa situation since COVID-19 extensions are ending soon. The community responds that a VOA is typically not extendable and suggests applying for a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage, along with requirements for bank funds and immigration procedures.

VOA for UK is very unlikely, VOA is just for certain countries, not UK.

Just get yourself a 60 day tourist visa or arrive on a 30 day Exemptiom. These can be extended with 30 and if it's not march 25 yet with 60Covid

If your marriage is registered maybe you should apply for a 90 day non O visa based on a Thai spouse then after that get an extension. You would need 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank for 2 months prior. As Tod always says, slog it out to your local Immigration office and get a handout. Good luck

this is the stuff you’d need for the Phuket office. Your local office may vary, but you’ll get an idea.

@Drew ******
if you get the Non O 90 day first you have that time to wait. I’m doing the same right now and go soon to get the extension

Can you get the Non-O 90 day whilst on Thailand? If so is it done through local immigration. ?

@Drew ******
yes at your local immigration office. You apply for the non O with 400k in your account. There is no amount of seasoning required for this initial visa. When it’s nearing the end of your 90 days then apply for the year extension.

If you came on VOA then this cannot be extended

you more than likely came in visa exempt. This you can extend one time for 30 days. Transfer your

0thb to your Thai bank account then apply for your non o based on Marge 2000thb . This gets you 90 day. Before the end of that 90 days apply for your one year extension 1900thb
