Hello, I will go to CW immigration soon to apply for a 1 year extension based on being married to a Thai. I will choose the monthly income route. I entered Thailand on a Non-O ME (Spouse) visa, which expired already.

Does anyone have an up to date list of documents I need to bring?

Thanks so much!

If that's the case

, I would go to the thai immigration office that you use and get the hand out for a yearly extension of stay based on marriage to a thai using monthly income gained from legally working inside thailand. It's your contract, your pay stubs, your social security contributions, documents from your employer showing the thais that work for them which allow them to hire a foreigner etc.

My previous experience doing Extension of Stay (Thai Wife) based on income proof, the immigration would require tons of corporate tax documentation from my ex-employer (a publicly listed US MNC and also a BOI entity) - I know this because the HR staff told me that she need to take bunch of pictures of the workplace and also when I went to CW for interview, I saw a pile of my employer's corporate tax filings document in the package submitted by the visa agent used by the company.

This was after having worked with the company in TH for more than 2 years (I was under Non-B initially and yes, I also had all my personal income tax filing documentation submitted alongside).

long story short.. it felt like quite a bit of a hassle, although it was prepared by someone else and I got the agent doing the waiting and all. (Very different compared to the Non-B application under BOI).

After I left to start my own company.. I mostly just go with the 400K route since I self file and it's a way more straightforward.

using income from inside the country (by legally working here) requires a pile 'o paperwork and getting the hand out from your immigration office will make sure you aren't missing a document.

Also remember you have until the 26th of Sept to apply for this yearly extension (until amnesty runs out)..

another option is if you're a teacher at a government school or you're making minimum wage (55K THB a month if I remember correctly), you can get an extension of stay based on employment.

50K for foreigners from EU countries.

that's why I said GO get the hand out now so you know what's what as far as what you need.

@Roman *********
what country is your passport from? AND are you going to use legal employment inside the country as your way to meet the 40K baht per month income requirement?

I ask your nationality because citizens from SOME countries can still go to their consulate and get an affidavit of income from abroad notary document that is accepted by the thai immigration office as proof of income from overseas.

Other consulates (like the US, the UK & Australia just to name a few) do not offer that income affidavit anymore AND the only way to get a year extension by using monthly income method is to transfer the 40K baht in to a thai bank account in your name only each month every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your extension.

to my knowledge, if you're using the income method, you do not need to show the money is overseas.

Hi, Copy of all documents relating to Marriage, certificate etc, Copy of Wifes ID Card, Copy of her Barn Book and Barn book, your Passport, with copies all pages, last 12 months bank statements with a letter from the bank, your bank book with copy, the book needs to be updated on the day you apply, evidence of where your money comes from, 6 Photos of you and Wife in and around the house including Bedroom, a Map of where you live, I just copied Google Maps, seemed to work and your TM7 Form completed with Photo, I think that is it.

Keep in mind this was at Kap Cheong, they wanted evidence of where the money came from, but it is not really needed, all offices make up the own rules.

Your Bank Statement must show income coming from overseas.
