Does anyone know which embassy close to thailand needs to see the shortest amount of bank statements? I divested from other things and put 500k into a thai account, but don't want to leave it there not making any returns longer then needed?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around inquiries regarding which embassies close to Thailand require the fewest bank statements for visa applications, particularly for those needing to show proof of funds in a Thai bank account. It appears that various embassies, including those in Myanmar, Jakarta, Taipei, Cambodia, and Vietnam, have differing requirements, with some allowing only one month of statements if the ending balance meets the required THB 500,000. There's also mention that funds do not necessarily need to be held in a Thai bank account, and some embassies are transitioning to an e-visa system.

Phnom Penh, Taipei, Yangon and Jakarta. However, all of these except Taipei are moving to the e-visa system soon.

You don't need money in a Thai bank. Money can be in your foreign account.

My understanding is they have mind the ending balance to meet Baht 500K or equivalent.

Jakarta, Taipei, Cambodia, Yangon except one month statements. If you show 3-6 months of statements with final balance of 500K, Laos, Vietnam are ok

Laos isn't. They want the money sitting there for 3 months.

on this page the common consensus is that Phnom Penh accepts 1 month. Is this now not the case as I have flight and hotel booked?

Thailand is in the process of opening a new consulate in Siem Reap. However, with Phnom Penh moving to the e-visa system next month and this generally being the trend worldwide, I doubt we'll ever get a chance to apply in person in Siem Reap once the new consulate is up and running.
