Should I resubmit my daughter's e-visa application or let her enter with a 30-day visa exemption?

Advice, please.

My e-visa was approved. My 2-year old daughter's was not. I must've made an error on the application somewhere. Is it recommended that I resubmit, which is another $40, or just let her get the 30-day entry as a US citizen when we arrive?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether to resubmit their 2-year-old daughter's e-visa application, which was not approved, or to allow her to enter Thailand using the 30-day visa exemption for US citizens. The discussion reveals that if the child enters on a 30-day visa, she won't be fined for overstaying, but the possibility of future visa complications is raised. Users talk about the importance of having required documentation ready upon arrival and the potential for mistakes in the initial application. Overall, concerns center around the implications of the visa status on future travel and immigration options.

Your daughter’s E-Visa could have been refused in error i.e. someone hit the wrong key. Are you not entitled to ask them to check for error?

Be sure to print out copies of the Thai Evisa email you received from the Thai Embassy to show your airline if asked and Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand. Make sure you are STAMPED in for 60 days with the SETV single entry tourist visa.

Keep in mind, insurance might not work without a visa (if overstaying)

I have never heard of that before. The travel or health insurance is not related to the passport or visa.

I did. The fact that a person is in the country "illegally" might invalidate the insurance. Depends on the provider and terms though

That comes down to whether you're going to get any long term visa/extension while you're here or not

Because while you can bring your child in on a 30 day free visa exempt entry and let them overstay, what you can't do is get any visa/extension for them once they go on overstay.

Remember children under 15 can't be fined for overstay and children under 18 can't be banned..

So no issue bringing her in and letting her overstay, nothing will happen to you or her when you stamp out and go back

It comes down to what you're going to be doing in thailand.

ah with the stories I'm reading il keep doing things like I'm doing with him so at least 1. He learns for future adventures when he is older and 2. So it doesn't affect any visas we apply for in future.

as I said children under 15 can't be fined for overstay and children under 18 can't be banned, NOTHING will happen to them being able to get a visa in the future, I know foreigners here who have children on multi-YEAR overstays who exit/re-enter and get them a visa no issue
