Do I need to apply for an e-visa for my 2-year-old daughter when I apply for mine for Thailand?
I'm an American citizen, as is my daughter. I know I can enter and receive a "free" 30 day visa, but I'd rather apply for the e-visa to request 60 days then extend. I assume I need to submit an application for my 2year old daughter also. Correct?

Yes you should apply for the correct visa for your daughter. While she would not be fined for overstay, she would still receive the overstay stamp.
