How can I apply for a visa for my newborn daughter in Thailand, and do we need to leave the country for that?

I have an extension to stay based on Retirement, My Filipina Wife has an extension of stay based on mine. We have a newborn daughter. I know that we don't necessarily need a visa for her BUT if we decided to get one how would we proceed? do we need to take her out of Thailand first or can we do it here? Do we need proof of funds again?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process for obtaining a visa for their newborn daughter in Thailand. They already hold extensions based on retirement, and the wife has a dependent extension. They are unsure if they need to take their daughter out of Thailand to apply for the visa or if it can be done within the country. Additionally, they are curious about whether proof of funds is necessary for the visa application. Community members have responded that usually there are no issues if the baby has a passport, and there are specific considerations regarding overstays and immigration checks.

nope you're highly unlikely to have any problems taking a baby (with a passport) in and out of the country on 30 day visa exempt entries even with lengthy overstays between the exits and entries.

Just wondered whether we would get some hassle if we went out and back to Thailand a few times each year by immigration. Could they be stubborn and say that she has been in and out too many times on a visa exempt on entry?

Vincent Vanmilingen you said your wife is on extension by way of your retirement in Thailand?
Tod *********
the place you need to ask these questions is the immigration office that you and your wife got your extensions at.

I would bet you're going to be told NOT to worry about anything visa wise until the child is at least school aged.

Children under 15 cannot be fined for overstay and children under 18 cannot be banned for overstay

replied with helpful advice. I was wondering does the baby yet have a passport? And if so where from ? UK...or Philippines. Is your marriage recognized by the British Embassy?

And hers by the Philippines?

Just wondering what the baby will need re passport and when? Curious to know.

And I wish you and family much happiness...take good care ๐Ÿ˜‰
