If I could get a bit of help pls. I’ll be coming from uk with my 2 kids 4&11. I go over by 8 days for my 30day entry on arrival. Is it easier to extend in Bangkok or pattaya? I looked at the e-visa in uk and it requires alot of documents so it’s easier for me to do it there. Would I need to get my childrens visa done as well? I read that they are good if my visa is good as they are both under 15yrs. If I don’t get theirs extended would they have a problem traveling in the future and would I have to pay a fine when leaving Thailand for them? Tia

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their 30-day visa obtained upon arrival in Thailand for themselves and their two children (ages 4 and 11). They inquire about whether it is easier to extend their visa in Bangkok or Pattaya, and if their children's visa needs to be processed as well. Community comments clarify that children under 15 cannot be fined for overstaying, and while it's recommended to extend their visas, they won't face future travel issues due to an overstay stamp. The responses also mention the importance of having onward or return travel booked within the 30 days and suggest that obtaining a tourist e-visa prior to departure may be easier despite the paperwork.

You'll need a return/onward travel within 30 days if you dont get a tourist visa. Much easier and cheaper to get the single entry Tourist evisa before you leave.

I have a return ticket but it’s for 8 days after the 30 day visa entry. Are you saying I cannot extend my visa when out there to cover those 8 days?

I’m trying for the e visa but it’s a lot of paper work

You wont be able to board the flight unless you've got a return or onward travel within 30 days. You're only stamped in for 30 days without a visa and the airlines know this, they'll want to see a return or onward travel within that 30 days.

Thankyou. Is this the. Same for the kids? So I need a visa for all of us?

Your only other option is cheap onward travel within 30 days but the Tourist visa is going to be the cheaper and easier option.

Whilst it’s better to get an extension for your children they can’t be fined for overstay (under 15), nor banned from Thailand.

Having an overstay stamp in their passport won’t have repercussions in the future.

Any immigration office will do a tourist visa (or exempt) extension. 1,900 baht.

You do the extension where your staying at the time to match the tm30. Kids don't get overstay so they be fine.
