My daughter arrived with a 30day Visa on Arrival. I went to extend it for another month. But immigration officer said because she’s under 15 years old not to worry about it. I asked 2 different guys and they both said the same thing. Anyone else came across this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a situation where an expat's daughter arrived in Thailand on a 30-day Visa on Arrival. Upon attempting to extend it, immigration officers reassured that because she is under 15 years old, they wouldn’t enforce penalties for overstaying. Readers contributed varying opinions, emphasizing rules about travel history, exemptions for children, and procedures for dual citizens. It’s noted that a Thai child can overstay without fines, but the importance of following the rules and having the correct documentation was also underscored.
I went to immigration before I wrote the post. But it’s all sorted now. If a child is dual citizen and u bring thai passport or ID card it’s all good. They can overstay in the non thai passport as long as they like

Just hand both UK and Thai passports in when you leave going through immigration. A Thai cant overstay in Thailand and they wont be interested if she is dual citizen.
Is her Thai mother travelling out with you? If not make sure you have your kids birth certificate with you and a letter from her mother allowing her to leave the Kingdom.
If mother is with you then only birth certificate is required.
The first time we took our son out of Thailand my wife was questioned by the IO and asked if she was leaving on her own will or was I forcing her to leave.
There must be some weirdos out there forcing their Thai wives and kids out of the Kingdom if she was being asked this.

No insurance? I have been following the same advice with my kids. Can you clarify? 🙂
OK, enough said. It would have been a lot easier, but I understand.

Bad advice from them. Do not spoil your kid's travel history record to Thailand. She's only exempted from punishment, not from the rule itself. But everything is recorded, and we don't know how strict they'll be on these things in the future. Just follow the rules.
