There was speculation that Europeans were going to get 90 day visas like the Indians.
Has there been any progress on this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation reveals that there have been no recent developments regarding the speculation about Europeans receiving 90-day visas in Thailand, similar to the provisions for Indian citizens. Some participants mention that only Russians from Europe are currently eligible for such exemptions. European tourists can still acquire a 60-day visa, extendable by 30 days, while various commenters express skepticism about these rumors, attributing them to media clickbait or misinterpretations.

As a general rule it’s best not to listen to “speculation” in Pattaya, and definitely don’t expect any kind clarification on Facebook.

Europeans can already get a 60-day visa which is extendable by another 30 days. So there's your 90 days!

Not going to happen. Why would they when western countries make it so hard for Thais to visit.
Totally agree. I always shake my head when westerners cry "racial discrimination" when they're charged 300 baht to get into a national park, without looking at their own countries total racial discrimination against Thai people!
yes I know Europe and USA make it extremely difficult, although they may as well join the others via the illegal route that's being made easy 🤣
But just wondered if Russians get 90 days then maybe there was a mutual arrangement which benefited Thais going to Russia or if purely financial, which if the case I'm sure Americans and most Europeans spend as much and probably more than Russians here.
it's so arrogant and insulting, "We don't believe you will leave Canada" is the response the Canadian Embassy gives. Like someone would want to live in that cold sh*thole!
who said anything about passports? Geniuses like you aren't very good at reading comprehension (nor spelling). 😉
This is about places to live or even visit (as the post that I'm replying to said), not passports. I'd much rather live in Thailand than in Canada. As do so many other Canadians in Thailand.
Thai people get that arrogant reply from the Canadian Embassy even when they're applying for a tourist visa to visit for 2 weeks! Even Thais who have jobs and property in Thailand are denied.
PS: I also have a European passport and I'd gladly give up the Canadian one if I had to choose between the two.
Geniuses like you promote Canada as the greatest country on earth while you stay far away from it on the other side of the world in a warmer, friendlier country like Thailand.
PSS: before you come at me with your "I'm a French speaker, so of course I will make spelling mistakes, you only speak English" lame excuse, I do in fact speak 2 other languages fluently (+ HSK 4 intermediate level in Mandarin) and did speak French very well after school so many years ago but already forgot that useless garbage a long time ago 😂😂
they get it from all the embassies of countries where the chances of "pulling a fast one" are high. We're aware of that. I know sooo many illegal workers back home it's insane. Stop butthurting, that's just the reality of the world.
Unfortunately no developments on that story, not even sure where it originated from.
But do remember they said it was a means to compensate for the fact Chinese numbers were far lower than expected.

Just Russians from Europe got 90 days visa exemption now. As a European you can get 90 days visa if you’re over 50 years or married to a Thai. (And can meet the economic requirements).
If you meet the economic requirements ore are willing to pay. For Non O u just have to prove your own income (65K thb a month) and the fee is $30 a year for extension.
oh you have been misinformed. The annual fee is 1900 baht. Plus 3400 for the multiple entry visa. Total 5300 annually and you are required to collect your banking information and submit it to immigration annually. As well as 90 day reporting. And you must pay tax in Thailand if you stay longer than 180 days (we think 🤷♂️)And no fast track at airport.
But with LTR the 10 year cost is 50k baht for multiple entry. Only 5k annually. And no 90
Reporting. No annual visits to you bank and immigration. No 90 day reporting. FastTrack at the airports. And tax free. Anyone would be ‘willing to pay’ I think?
