The conversation discusses the potential for Schengen countries to obtain a visa waiver for travel to Thailand, with various opinions expressed. Some users express optimism about gaining easier access for 90 days without a visa, while others remain skeptical about the feasibility of such measures due to existing travel restrictions and political considerations. Concerns are raised regarding fairness, human rights, and the implications of illegal immigration. The topic broadens to address past issues related to Brexit and its impact on travel and immigration as well.

I doubt it will come true

If this should go ahead, I would imagine citizens of Schengen countries will get the "reciprocal rights" agreement and may get 90-day visa waiver entries into Thailand
Most only get 30 days free entry. I don't know of any that get 60. There's a few that get 90. If Schengen countries end up getting 90, expect to see a lot of crying from Americans and British! ๐
Ah yes, but you pay for the second 30. The freebie runs out after 30 days. And you're right, UK should be downgraded. Thais have to jump through hoops and pay 5000 baht for a UK visa

They are trying to get same or better deal than Vietnam for trade, the visa aspect will be 'a nice to have', considering Vietnam doesn't have it.

Why is this not in place already for a long time? What are the Europeans scared of? With millions of illegals and fake โrefugeesโ overrunning Europe exhausting their welfare and social services because of their idiotic immigration/refugee laws imposed by the dumb dictators in Brussels! Are they worried a few Thais would overstay? Most Thais are decent hardworking, honest people and many would love to visit without the visa hassle -and there are plenty of jobs in Europe those who wanted to stay legally could fill.
The UK wasn't part of the Schengen agreement so wouldn't have had any effect. But yes,,,, the world is still laughing at Little brittain's self harm episode

Propaganda.
I don't see it feasible for them to grant Thailand Visa Waiver.
Thailand must lift many bans on European citizens.
100% equal rights.
Repatriation at the expense of the Thai government for illegal immigrants.
I think Europeans do quite well under the current agreement appart from cyprus and Malta) I wouldnt be suprised to find that there are more europeans overstaying in Thailand than Thais overstaying in Europe.
Because currently in Europe there is a filter that is not easy to overcome.
I recommend you look at what happens in South Korea and Japan with the Visa Waiver for Thais.Hundreds of thousands of Thais travel as tourists and then stay to work illegally.
I would assume that would be the case or it wouldn't be very fair. There's still a few countries in the EU that don't currently receive visa free (visa exempt) travel to Thailand. If this actually went through I would expect that to change.
