TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion reveals no current plans to extend the 30-day visa exemption to a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand. Participants indicate that the standard tourist visa remains at 60 days, with options to extend. The consensus is that there is no announcement or confirmation regarding an extended tourist visa at this time.

No, no word.

If you mean visa exempt it's 30 days on entry, and extendable by a further 30 days once you're in Thailand. There's no plans for 60 day exempt. The only short term concessions are those shown here

@Steve *******
the Russian one isn't visa exempt, it's visa waiver. The main difference being that it's not eligible for extension.

Yeah that's from the Thai Consulate website so they've probably used terminology not to confuse people.

@Albert *******
the OP was asking about a Visa Exempt for tourism, which is only a rumour. Either that, or he's thinking of the current 60 day Tourist Visa.

What you are talking about is a Visa based either on Retirement or Marriage to a Thai.
Albert ********
I did it last year My wife did everything if you have any questions we would be happy to give you any guidelines like I said we missed a few things and they emailed us back.
Albert ********
Go to thaievisa.go.th like I said take your time there's a lot of things you could miss.

@Albert *******
