Can I extend a tourist visa exemption in Thailand for more than 30 days?
If you enter the country on a tourist visa exemption is it true you can only extend for another 30 days and that’s it? Or it it better to enter the country on a Tourist visa (TR) if you planning to stay longer?
Answer summary
Entering Thailand on a visa exemption allows for a 30-day extension, regardless of whether it's a 45-day exemption or a 60-day tourist visa. Hence, if planning to stay longer, one should consider different visa options to secure a longer stay.

It doesn't matter whether you enter on a visa exempt entry (which is now 45 days) or a 60 day tourist visa entry you can only get ONE 30 day extension from them.
So if you're planning to stay longer you need to find another way after that

Thank you for replying, until when are these 60 days covid extensions? And you reckon they continue with this for a while, or no one really knows? Tod *********

the ability to apply for a 60 day covid extension runs out on March 30th. No one knows what's gonna happen until they announce it. Rik ***********
