Hi everyone, I applied for a DTV in Hanoi, but my application is still in pending approval status.

Is it possible to move to a different city in Vietnam while the application is still pending, or do I need to stay in Hanoi until it’s approved?

If anyone has experience with this, please share. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among community members indicates that you can move freely within Vietnam while your visa application is under review. However, it may be advisable to stay within the jurisdiction of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application, as they can request proof of location during the approval process. Overall, there is flexibility to travel, but caution is advised regarding potential jurisdictional issues.

" I can’t go to Ha Long Bay right now since I’m working remotely and work is quite busy."

He can not visit a bay a few km away BUT moving to another city is no problem.

Because sometimes they ask for you to show proof of location. And if your in the wrong jurisdiction they cancel your application

You can stay anywhere in Vietnam during the waiting period. It’s not even necessary to stay in Hanoi while applying for a visa.

But you have to be in a place in Vietnam while applying where Hanoi has jurisdiction, and after applying it migh be wise to stay there.

You have to stay in the jurisdiction area of the consulate or embassy where you apply.

Within that area you are free to travel.
