What should I do if my DTV visa application is still pending approval in Hanoi?
My DTV (soft power) was submitted on 22/3/2026 and changed to "Pending Approval" on 24/3/2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam. I hoped that I could get a visa today but the status was still "Pending Approval".
Is it the normal process or what happens ?? The embassy is busy or they accidentally skip my visa file or something??
I am worried. Please advise me. Thank you in advance.

Has anyone ever been approved (in Hanoi) without switching to pending approval at all? Just straight from processing documents to approval?

I handed in the application in Hanoi on the 24th (Tuesday) and since they were closed on Wednesday and Friday, today is only the 2nd Business Day After I handed it in. Next week and the week after are holidays as well so it’s Not the best Timing for us.

Its been a week. If you have spent anytime reading posts in this group you would know that you really are just getting to the point in the timeline where you might expect to see some movement (requests for other documents, interview request, hopefully an approval). Take a couple of deep breathes and tell yourself to not expect anything until next week. It will relieve some stress.

Anonymous participant it is cases by case. not everyone get approved within 5 days. many people waited up to 3 weeks as well.

"Pending approval" does not always mean it going to approved. It can go to "Finished" (rejection). So now your chance is

Someone posted Hanoi was closed for couple of days last week. So approvals will take a bit longer than usual.
