I applied for my Muay Thai DTV in Hanoi. My application was canceled, saying that I didn't have enough months left in my passport.

So we hoofed it over to the Embassy and filed for new passports.

I just got word that our new passports are arriving early next week, so I have to re-apply. Do I re-apply at Hanoi, or do I have to switch to HCMC? You switch cities if you get a rejection, right? But for a cancelation, you can re-apply at the same location?

Please let me know if you have actual experience with this.

Be aware that you're Vietnam entry Visa is likely in your old passport and Vietnam's pretty stickly for seeing all the pages of your passport so I suggest you show all the pages of your old passport and at least the first few pages of your new passport which your application will be done under. Suggest a brief cover letter explaining the passport situation.

You can apply at the same Embassy if you wish. No rule about having to apply elsewhere upon rejection or cancellation.
