What should I do if my DTV visa application is still pending approval before my flight to Thailand?
DTV Application Status – Need Advice
Hi everyone,
I applied for my DTV at the Thai Embassy in Frankfurt on September 7.
• Sept 9: Application showed as pending approval.
• Sept 15: They asked me to submit additional documents (digital portfolio).
• Since then, the status is back to pending approval.
Here’s my concern: I already booked my flight back to Thailand for October 1 and I’m worried the approval won’t come through before departure.
👉 Has anyone here experienced something similar?
👉 Any advice what I should do? Will calling the embassy help, or is it just a matter of waiting?
Thanks a lot in advance! 🙏

bas luck as clock resets. Contact embassy to see if they can fast track or if not enter VISA-FREEHenrik *****
Most embassies write in their website, that there is no fasttrack options, it is the responsibility of the applicant to apply at the right time.

Have to buy a flexible ticket if they ask you for proof of flight.

Germany and France have a very nasty habit of waiting until the day before you fly to issue the visa. Drives people crazy.

we have experienced it a few times. Maybe coincidence who knows

And you cannot change your ticket? This isn't a problem at all, you can enter Thailand visa free. Once the DTV is ready, you simply reenter thailand.

I applied in Frankfurt as well on 1. st September... Also on approvel pending...

Applied 31st August. Additional docs 9th September. Pending approval since 15th September. Normal though. Timer resets when adding additional docs. 15 business days is the norm so I don’t expect to hear anything before 3rd October earliest.

Next step: Call the airline today and start begging them for a credit for the cost of the ticket you bought.
2nd step: Wait until after you're DTV is approved to purchase your next flight to Thailand.

I submitted my application in mid March, mine was approved in May and my hubby & childrens in June you'll be lucky to get it that quickly.
There's not really anything you can do as they dont give contact info. It's just a waiting game.
Not sure if you can enter as a tourist and switch once approval happens?

OPCatherine Young yeah also not sure If I can enter on tourist visa when there is the process pending

NEVER buy tickets until you have the visa.
Additional documents resets the timer to 0.
Status messages do not give any indication about where the application is in the process.
Check Embassy website BEFORE applying, to see average visa processing time.
You simply has to stay until visa is granted, leaving is grounds for rejection.

I think we can only wait.. mine was submitted on August 23rd, they ask extra document on Sept 9th, the status changed for Pending for approval. And I have been waiting since then.. I call the embassy yesterday and they said it’s a good thing that the status is Pending for approval but there is nothing we can do but wait. It’s the Paris embassy btw
