I applied for my DTV at the Thai Embassy in Frankfurt on September 7.
• Sept 9: Application showed as pending approval.
• Sept 15: They asked me to submit additional documents (digital portfolio).
• Since then, the status is back to pending approval.
Here’s my concern: I already booked my flight back to Thailand for October 1 and I’m worried the approval won’t come through before departure.
👉 Has anyone here experienced something similar?
👉 Any advice what I should do? Will calling the embassy help, or is it just a matter of waiting?
Thanks a lot in advance! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around a user's concern regarding their pending DTV visa application submitted to the Thai Embassy in Frankfurt. After submitting the application, the user received a request for additional documents, which reset the application status to pending approval. With a flight booked to Thailand for October 1, the user is anxious about whether the approval will arrive in time. Various community members share their experiences, emphasizing the unpredictability of visa processing times, expressing the importance of not purchasing flight tickets before visa approval, and advising on the next steps, including contacting the airline and potentially waiting for visa approval or entering Thailand visa-free.
Applied 31st August. Additional docs 9th September. Pending approval since 15th September. Normal though. Timer resets when adding additional docs. 15 business days is the norm so I don’t expect to hear anything before 3rd October earliest.
nah will just do last minute or get a flexible one. I already heard before Germany France UK can take 1-2 months. Keep us updated when you get approved. Will do same
I think we can only wait.. mine was submitted on August 23rd, they ask extra document on Sept 9th, the status changed for Pending for approval. And I have been waiting since then.. I call the embassy yesterday and they said it’s a good thing that the status is Pending for approval but there is nothing we can do but wait. It’s the Paris embassy btw
