Can I apply for a Thai tourist visa or DTV visa while in Bali if I am a resident of Germany?
Hello everyone! I am planing to travel around asia around november/ december..do you know if I can apply for the tourist visa or DTV (soft power) Visa also in Bali - i have still my residence in Germany and can get all the proofs digital. munich consulate is responsible for me.

What has been said, would apply for a DTV visa (as of August 31. 2026), I can not see how it would apply for a tourist visa. The OP staded both (DTV and Tourist Visa).

You will be able to apply for a tourist visa while in Indonesia but you can only apply for a DTV visa in Germany or other country of which you are a permanent resident since the 31st August

Sarah Stella Perhaps based on the info I shared in my second comment earlier, it may be a good idea to ask whether the in-person interview is absolutely required (mandatory) or it is just for some certain cases. Try also to consult with the consular in Munich conveying your need to travel to Indonesia during the period of time that you may be required for the DTV interview in Munich. Hope you could get a practical consensus. ✌️✌️

Sarah Stella From the summary info I read, you might need both a bank statement of 3 consecutive months up to near the date of your visa application submission, which you can request online from the bank, and a certifying letter from the bank issued within less than 30 or 15 days prior to your application. This means that you need to put the €13,000 in your respective bank account perhaps a bit before those 3 months (statement) and the amount must remain as minimum sum of outstanding balance always and throughout the 3 months statement. This is perhaps a bit difficult in case you can't maintain the minimum balance that much, although perhaps your bank knows better so it might be a good idea to ask a bank teller.

Last question: I need to have all the 3 months the 500. 000 baht, right? If some days during the 3 months the amount is like 4000 baht for example to less, it is a Problem - even at the end the amount will be over 500 000 baht. Am I right? 😅

various ways, passport stamps, time stamped photos of you at local landmarks, call you in for an interview and so on. Plus you have to provide your location as part of the application, lying isn't a good start to a visa application, it can even lead to you being blacklistedSarah ********
