ORIGINAL POSTERHi, Is that normal? I went to immigration in Pattaya to extend my marriage visa for another year after one year. She stamped my passport until the end of January and said that I would only receive the visa after the police had been in the building to visit us? Has anyone experienced the same thing?

Its normally IO officer who are actually a division of police that do visits make sure you are a married couple. Lots of offices do that.

Perfectly normal for marriage extension. They'll call you to setup a time and come and take photos and possibly speak to your neighbors. Also not uncommon for them to ask for some "gas money" or something similar.

Yes normal , 1 month under consideration stamp. They come to where you live to check you actually live there, question the neighbours , take pictures. You will get about 30 minutes notice.
