Is it normal for the Thai immigration office to require document checks again for my Non-B extension?

Good afternoon!

I submitted my documents for Non-B 1 year extension along with my wife's Non-o extension in Samut Prakarn immigration. Today was the day to get the stamp for 1 year extension, and after waiting for some time Samutprakarn immigration told, they are ok with documents but Chaengwattana office wants to check all the documents again. Thus, put a stamp again to come back on 28th October. This is the first time we are encountering this.

Is it normal? or randomly they just picked to checked again ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The situation described is considered normal in the context of Thai immigration processes, especially given recent changes and challenges due to COVID-19. The applicant's documents were accepted by Samut Prakarn immigration, but the Chaengwattana office is conducting additional checks, which can happen randomly. It is not unusual for immigration offices to request further document verifications, and the applicant is already on their new extension despite the wait.

totally NORMAL. (Especially given this covid shit show and that amnesty just ran out and a new amnesty started) :O

Just wait it out, and when you go back they'll put the year extension stamps into your passports.

Remember the under consideration stamp is actually the first month (or more in your case) OF the actual year extension (so you're already on the new extension :P)

It is totally normal and most times they don't even give you a new stamp to come back by, they just say we'll call you when we get your paperwork back and you seem like you're on overstay by looking at the stamps in your passport
