I have a question about the police visit required for renewing your non-o visa based on marriage. I will start my renewal paperwork next month, with the police visit sometime during the month, and then hopefully the visa will be issued at the end of the month. This is Samui, so the police DO visit...at least they did last year.
My wife's family is coming in the middle of the month, and she wants to take them to Koh Tao for a few days. I'm worried this will be a problem if the police want to visit during those days when, you know, she's not even on the same island. Will this complicate matters for my visa renewal? Can we plan ahead with immigration for this?
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm curious to hear any feedback from others who may have dealt with this. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing a non-O visa based on marriage, the presence of your wife during the police visit is crucial to validate your relationship. It's essential to communicate any planned absences to the immigration office ahead of time, as the police usually do not provide a specific schedule for visits. Experiences from others suggest informing immigration of your wife's absence may help, but itβs generally advised that she remains at home during this period to prevent any complications with your visa renewal.

In other words, you have a Thai friend who is willing to pose as your wife for visa purposes. However, her time is limited so you need to know when she should be there?
Yes I did my application yesterday in koh phangan .
I was asked if I was going away anywhere during the next month . I said I had no plans to. They said if I do plan to,to let them know . So I guess you could inform them of the days that you won't be there .π
You can not set up a schedule when you want them to visit. That defeats the purpose of their visit, to see if you actually live together. You should get your wife to understand how important her being there is. You staying in Thailand legally could be considered much more important than her going on vacation with her family. If they refuse your extension they can give you a seven day stamp instructing you to leave Thailand, if they actually do visit, as it is not something they do all the time. They might visit, and they might not, but you are only called a day or two before they visit. If they do come visit, they do it during your thirty day under consideration stamp.
