Information

Applied for my first one year extension based on marriage 11 days ago in Prachinburi

Had everything we needed except the bank didn’t do the letter correctly and I didn’t realize they wanted a bank statement too

Bank was only a half kilo from immigration office so no big deal a couple of trips back to the bank

Immigration officer was really nice even got on the phone with the bank

Immigration police showed up to our house today unannounced and we were not home

They called my wife and came back two hours later

Filled out some paperwork and took some photos and talked to my wife’s sister who is our neighbor

I think everything went good

I noticed when I made my TM30 in Prachin Buri that it is nice people working there.

They even answered on email before I arrived.

Next step for me, is exactly what you did now.

So far I made borderbounce at Aran Poi Pet. Not a nice experience.

What documents did they require?

Marriagelicens, House book, passport, bank as you mentioned.

Handwritten map?

Thanks for the update.

It's the right door for this? What I understand, the left door is only for reporting the address.

yes need the map and everything else you mentioned plus the application and everything in duplicate including application also about a dozen pictures with you and your wife around the house making sure to have one in front of the address

I highly recommend going to the immigration office with your wife before hand and they will give you all the instructions and yes they are very nice there

What paperwork did you fill out when they visited your house?

We didn’t fill out anything one of the immigration officers did looked like one of the application packets that we turned in that he was writing stuff on

He also talked to my wife’s sister who is also our neighbor and had her sign something

id card and housebook

The neighbours provided copies? Copies of what?

we, foreigners, not have to fill out or sign anything. They only make some pictures and talk with a neighbor, who have to provide some copies.

yep, the immigration offices up country do those in-home visits and many times they don't call first :/

You should be fine, and you should have gotten a stamp in your passport that said your extension was under consideration and it should have a date when you go back to the immigration office to get the extension inked into your passport

You and many other people get stamps that are on the weekend or on holidays and I can't understand why the immigration office doesn't at least LOOK at the calendar before they stamp when you should return into your passport ;)

Yes got that stamp the day we applied

The date of the stamp is a Saturday so they told us to come in Friday afternoon
