TLDR : Answer Summary
When preparing for a house visit as part of your Non-Imm O - married to Thai year extension, expect the officer to compare your application photos with your home to verify authenticity. Typically, they will check your house, chat briefly with your Thai spouse, and may ask neighbors about you. It's advisable to have some neighbors available for signing and any necessary photos. The visit is usually quick, and most people find the officers to be polite and straightforward.

The IO came to my house in January. Quickly walked around downstairs and compared the photos I submitted with application to the house. Spent a few minutes talking to Thai wife. Then called on the neighbors. Spent more time there than they did with us

How soon before the end date on a marriage visa do you have to go get it done again

During the last 30 days of your Extension of Stay. The new year is added to your last day, going early does not make you loose a day

I just did my house visit recently. All the chap did was take pictures with me and my wife. That’s all and he left.

I had to get a neighbour to sign a form , otherwise pictures of my wife and I together outside property and inside property , about 4 photos all up.

The guy that came here seemed like a nice guy , I'd get a neighbour if possible some ask some dont from what I've heard.

It's no drama.

On my visit 5 turned with a car and a pickup with a cage. Caused quite stir in the village but, like you say, no drama if you are genuine.

same here Brian , we live in Pak Phanang Nakhon Si Thammarat, full on rural. Our nearest neighbour was nearly a km away in the neighbouring fields , luckily when asked my wife went and he was there and willing to help out.

They may also ask your neighbours about you so it would be useful to get a couple lined up

nothing but a few signatures, a few photos and maybe a request for "gas money" (which I would deny but which most people pay because their wife makes them :O )
