If you have a DTV and you exit after six months, is it a mandatory requirement to have 500,000 bath in your account once again while re-entering Thailand? Will the immigration require you to have that money in liquid in your account?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement to show 500,000 baht in your account when re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa after six months is not currently mandatory. This rule primarily applies when extending a stay at an immigration office. However, there are no guarantees as immigration practices may change, and officials can conduct checks. Previous experiences of travelers suggest that this requirement is not being enforced during re-entry, but one should remain cautious as future regulations may vary.

What the government looks at now with reference to the bt500,000, and what it was designed for, to pay for any accidents, or health issues people with those DTVs, and if they are able to pay their bills. There's been some instances of people getting hurt, and not having the money they were supposed to have. When that gets abused too much then they change the rules.

the question is: do you have to comply with your visa rules at any point in the 5 years. i guess no one can really answer that and it remains up to the discretion of the immigration officer 🤷‍♀️ so far nothing of this has been reported by people but you never know what the future might be.

But they coukd ask at immigration as it is still essentially a tourist visa

No

No it is not. That requirement is if you extend at an immigration office.

The fact that it is seen as a requirement for an extension, suggests that it is a requirement during the whole validity period of the visa, and that also souns logical. The fact that it normally will not be checked again upon (re)entry does not change this.

An updated bank statement of 500K THB seasoned for a minimum of 30 days must be submitted when applying for a 6-month extension at an immigration office.

If you are extending your stay in Thailand, then yes. However, if you are exiting and re-entering, so far, no. Rules can change, and checks may be conducted, so weigh the risks accordingly.
