Do I need to prove 500,000 baht after leaving and re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa?

I’m 90 days into my DTV

After 180 days, I want to leave and come back for another 2 months!

If I leave the country and re enter to try get another 180 days what’s the likelihood of them asking for the 500,000B proof again? I no longer have the full amount

To be honest, I want to do a Myanmar border run but I assume that’s also a bad idea given the current state of affairs?

Sorry if this has been asked before (it’s just so many posts in this group I can’t keep up) 🧐❤️ x

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa after 180 days, specifically regarding the likelihood of being asked for proof of the 500,000 baht funding. Responses indicate that there is no ongoing requirement to maintain this balance after the initial application. Many expats report frequent re-entries without being asked for financial proof. The discussion also touches on the feasibility of a Myanmar border run, with mixed opinions on its safety and legality, especially in light of current conditions.

The 500k baht is a visa application condition, not an ongoing requirement. Read my post on this page mate, explains everything you need to know with the official sources. If you have any further questions ask in the comments mate

Myanmar is closed for border bounces. If you’re in the north, go to Chiang Khong and enter the Laos land border there.

if there was a requirement to maintain funds it would be stated in a very obvious way in the requirements.

Border run to Myanmar from Ranong has been done by some people successfully and you can find their posts in this group. Apparently, you take a boat, pay both sides of the immigration and be back on the same day without actually having to go beyond the Burmese immigration on the other side.

One post said they had to show business ownership papers (according to their original DTV application, I guess) but not the 500K fund proof.

For the other land borders with Myanmar (especially Mae Sot - Myawaddy), I don't think it's advisable to do a visa run.

Don't need to proof the 500k, and leave an entry anywhere you feel fit as it's a valid visa

As you are 90 days inside Thailand you need to make a 90 day report at your local immigration Office.

Next to that you need, if you drive a car or motorbike, a Thai driving license.

BUT, you can leave and come back to get a new 190 day period of stay as long as your multiple entry DTV is valid.

I leave and re-enter Thailand frequently on DTV.. Never once been asked to show anything on re-entry yet.

None.. There is not a single case of anyone being refused entry for not maintaining the balance, it is not a requirement.

People may be asked questions, that's totally normal (I don't understand why people freak out about it so much), but no one has ever been turned away.

at suvarnaphumi desk in close contact with the officers to state that? There were cases of people being asked to show the 500k balance its not uncommon!

Funny that none of these people, who so confidently claim there have been such cases, want to make that claim under their own name. Always anonymously. Wonder what the reason may be...

Anonymous participant 189 Theres this thing called the internet, which has a thing called social media.. On those people post experiences and denial of entry usually gets massive attention because of the user freakout.

Not once, on any of the many social feeds has there been a single case of DTV denial of entry for not having 500k. If you disagree with that statement, please show it.

you're 100% correct because it is only an application requirement, not an ongoing visa condition.
