when applying at LA embassy for dtv visa

do you just need 500k baht in your bank account or do you need it for 3 months +?

anyone with experience with this?

and how much smoother does using a visa agent, or a muay thai gym agent make this whole thing?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Los Angeles, it is generally advised to maintain 500,000 Baht in your bank account for at least three months prior to application. This practice strengthens your application due to stricter guidelines at US embassies. Personal experiences shared indicate that applicants have successfully provided three months of Bank statements showing adequate funds. Additionally, if applying through a Muay Thai gym, it is essential to select one with a history of successful DTV visa applicants, as not all gyms guarantee approval and requirements may vary.

you should have the 500K baht in the bank account for 3 months as this would help strengthening your application naturally. Just sharing the experience when we work with a visa agent, for now the embassies in US are quite more strict, so having for 3 months is needed

Did you read the embassy page? You have to show in your account for longer than three months. I usually really keep it there cause they could check.

I got my DTV approved through Los Angeles via cooking school. I believe the consulate's website says $16k USD, but I provided them 3 months of savings account statements of $17k with the statement dates and ending balances highlighted. I also provided a cover letter detailing what the statements showed (ie)

"Hello - please find attached savings account statements for the past 3 months showing balances in excess of the amount listed as a requirement.

Statement 1: for the period ending May 31 with a final balance of $17, 017"

You get the picture.

As for muay thai school, make sure the school has had success with DTV applicants out of the Los Angeles consulate. If there is one thing everyone dealing with this stuff has come to understand it's that not all embassies & consulates are the same and what one accepts doesn't matter to the others. Good luck!

Anonymous participant No requst for tax returns. I think they only ask for that information from people going the workcation route.

They do offer a "Visa Support Package" for an extra fee, but doing it yourself isn't that hard. I did it myself and was approved in under an hour.

If there are questions, etc on the visa application you aren't sure how to answer just come back to this group and do a search. There aren't many questions that haven't already been asked and answered.

Read the requirements for the DTV visa on the Los Angeles Thai Consulate website.

They require US $16,000 in a bank account in your name only.

Are you an American citizen ?

For what purpose for the DTV visa are you applying for?

Workcation?

Or soft power activity?

IF soft power activity, which one and where will you be living in Thailand?

was going to go with FITFAC they dont submit the application for you though correct? they are more or less a reference and look good on the application?

Anonymous participant their supporting documents matter and very important to getting the DTV visa for Muay Thai training approved.

You SUBMIT your application for the DTV visa using the Evisa online application system.

Be extra careful with entering everything as it must be correct.

Especially your name, passport issue location and date of birth.

IF you are applying for the DTV visa for Muay Thai training, be absolutely sure to use a Muay Thai training gym that has been successful in getting the DTV visa for their students. AND follow their advice. We are seeing DENIED visa applications for 1 to 6 months training. Ask your Muay Thai training school... and plan to attend the training school sessions.
