Can I apply for a DTV visa in Thailand without having 500,000 baht in my account if I have a stable remote income?

Hello - Iโ€™m American wanting to apply for a DTV. I dont have 500,000 bhat in my account. I work remotely and make a salary that is 7x times that amount/I have a stable income to sustain myself out here.

Am I able to apply for a DTV and show proof of my job/salary (like my offer letter and/or paystubs) to make up for not having the 500,000? Or are they strict on having that amount in your account?

Also, do they reach out to your employer to make sure you actually work there or verify in any way? Or is just the letter needed?

Any help if appreciated - thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An American expat is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand without having the required 500,000 baht in savings. They mention their stable remote job with a salary seven times higher than the minimum amount needed. Responses indicate that the 500,000 baht requirement is strict and non-negotiable, regardless of income. Although the letter of employment may suffice in some cases, it seems verification practices vary. Suggestions also include alternative visas like the Elite Visa or Ed Visa for individuals in similar situations.

$15,000 isn't that much if you're supposedly making 6 figures.

Just go to Jakarta ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ. Doesn't need to be in your account too long there.

You need to meet that requirement for sure, pretty much the single most important factor

Go in on Ed visa or something. 2 language classes a week for 1-2 hours. You get a year to save up the $15k. Cost $300-600 for the classes.

th of your salary this month and apply , btw if you are confused about 500k thai baht , its not necessary to be in baht , could be any other currency such as 15k usd

Bro if you earn that much money, you would be better off looking into an Elite Visa. It's a much better visa. The DTV is a cheap tourist visa suited for cheap c**ts like myself โœ…

@Alex ******
that is true, the Elite/Privilege is a much better option in that case. Or even better with LTR visa

They are strict on having that amount. So, save up a few months I guess

MUST be 500k in bank account and the onus is on you to prove that the company you work for exists and gives you express permission to work online and in Thailand.

You make 7x that but donโ€™t even have 2 months salary in savings?

No 500,000 sitting as savings in the bank then you will get rejected, need to meet the criteria regardless your income you need the money in the bank and also will be checked each 180 days

They only want to see the money again if you extend through immigration. If you just fly out and back in there is no check.

If you make 7x that, why dont you have any savings? You will need this money for sure.

Pretty sure the rule is you have to have that amount and there is no leniency.

They didn't contact my employer (applied from Hanoi), the letter was fine. Not sure but other locations.
