Good day, I got several questions about DTV (soft power). Do assist me if possible.

1) I understand that DTV last 5 years. I’m interested to enrol in Muay Thai lessons. It’s a 9 months course. After 9 months, am I supposed to enrol for another lessons or by registering for 9 months course, I can stay Thailand for 5 years provided I leave the country every 180 days?

2) For the 500,000 baht requirement, is it 3 months or 6 months in bank account? Will my spouse need another 500,000 baht or she can tap on my 500,000 baht account?

3) Are all embassies the same in terms of requirements and approval rates? If not, any particular country you can recommend me to apply?

4) Do wI have to maintain 500,000 baht throughout the 5 years DTV?

Sincere apologies if my post is too long. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post seeks clarification on the details of the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand, specifically about enrolling in a 9-month Muay Thai course under the DTV, the 500,000 baht financial requirement for visa approval, and variations in requirements based on embassy locations. Additional inquiries include whether the financial proof must be maintained throughout the visa term and if all embassies have the same procedures for the DTV.

1) As of right now there is no requirement to continue the activity. That could change in the future and they could start checking your proof of activity when entering Thailand. If you try to extend inside of Thailand, immigration will require proof of your activity.

2) That depends on the embassy you apply at.

3) Each embassy sets their own requirements. If you want to apply at a different embassy, you must first travel to that country, then you can apply and must remain there until the visa is processed. Laos and Vietnam are both popular. You need to add extra time if you are planning on doing a dependent DTV as the first DTV must be issued before you can submit the application for the dependent one.

4) As of right now no, but that could change in the future if immigration starts checking for proof of funds when entering Thailand. If you try to do an extension in Thailand, they will basically require you to re-apply with all the same paperwork and provide new proof of funds.
