Hi! We have 2 visa questions, if anyone can help...
1) We organised a 60 day visa before arriving. And have just been to Krabi immigration to have it extended. They extended by 30 days. They said we could come back for the covid 60 day extension before 25th January. She said this date might be postponed (again) by the government. Which would be great, as our current visa doesn't expire until 6th February. We've tried to find reliable information about this, but no luck. Any suggestions?
2) They also charged us for our two children, ages 6 & 8, 1900 baht each for a 30 day extension. Which we happily paid, following the rules! But found out today that children under 12 do not need visa (extensions) in Thailand. Is this correct? And if so, should we try and speak to Krabi immigration? 3800 baht it a lot of money for us! Especially if taken "incorrectly".
Thanks in advance for any help. šš¼š¹šāŗļø

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about two main visa issues: the possibility of a further extension for their COVID-related visa and whether their young children's visa extensions were required since they are under 12. Responses suggest that while children technically need extensions, they cannot be fined for overstaying, making the requirement somewhat flexible. Additionally, speculation surrounds the announcement of potential extensions to visa deadlines.

They probably wonāt announce an extension to the January 25th date (if there will be one) until a few days before, so we just donāt know. As a guess it will be extended because land borders are still closed, but thatās just purely personal speculation.
it would make sense especially with the recent omicron stuff, already seen a couple posts on here the past couple days about 3000 baht Covid extensionsā¦.we need a blacklist for immigration offices lol
I think one was in krabi but I could be wrong, I canāt find the topic but. But Iāve seen at least 2 others with the same story. The first one one of the mods here Garrett asked but not sure he was answered.
in the past those stories have usually been 1900 with under consideration stamp, or a little extra to get your full stamp now. So do you want to pay extra for convenience or return in 7-15 days?
Children need extensions like everyone else. The difference is that they canāt be fined for overstay. So technically thereās no need for them to have one, but itās still illegal not to. Which way you want to go is your call.
